The self-propelled drill rig Face Master 2.8 ATEX is designed for drilling blast holes in headings up to 8.8m (W) x 6.1m (H) in hard rock mines with with potentially explosive atmosphere. The minimum tramming height: 2.6m. Thanks to telescopic feeders, this jumbo drill can be also used for used for drilling bolt holes in a roof and side walls and for bolts installation.

The Face Master 2.8 ATEX underground drill rig is designed for work in hard rock applications, in environment with a high explosion risk (ATEX group I, category M2). An on-board gas detection system is designed for both driving and drilling modes. As soon as the GENERAL alarm concentration of dangerous gases is reached, a visual and audible warnings in the operator’s cabin are given. As soon as the HIHG alarm concentration is reached the system stops the diesel engine or electrical powerpacks, depending on the work mode.
The working system, with its powerful rotary-percussive drifters, is designed to drill blast holes with a diameter of 45mm to 102mm, up to 3.4m in depth. The system allows drilling with full water flushing as well as with an adjustable water-air mix to limit the amount of water entering the work area. The drill rig can be supplied in two versions: with an adjustable canopy (2.6 - 3.1 m) or with a closed cabin (2.95m).
