The Face Master 1.8 RS underground drill rig is designed for development works in soft rock applications, including salt and oil shale mines. This jumbo drill machine offers a safe solution for operations with a high risk of fire. Engineered for secure, ergonomic operation and equipped with a powerful rotary drifter, the Face Master 1.8 RS is the perfect choice when drilling efficiency and operator health and comfort must go hand in hand.
The working system is designed to drill blast holes with a diameter of 30mm to 50mm, with a single rod up to 6.0m in length. The system allows drilling with a limited amount of water (approximately 0.2l/min) to increase the wetness of drilling dust and reduce the amount coming out of the drilling hole. The 100-liter on-board water tank allows drilling approximately 150 holes of 6.0m in depth.
The machine is a safe solution for operations in environments with a high explosion risk, as it meets the design requirements for flameproof mining equipment (ATEX) - group I, category M2. The diesel engine is supplied in standard execution and does not meet ATEX requirements, so it must be used only for driving in gas-free areas. Before entering the working zone, an air analyzing device must be used to ensure there is no explosion hazard.
