Self-Propelled drilling rig equipped with a computer-aided drilling process system”
Face Master 2.5 is a computerized machine designed for carrying out works in tunnels and mining excavations. Integrated high-tech electronics and hydraulics located in an air-conditioned operator’s cab allows laying out the course of a future tunnel (mine face), colleting data on hardness of the drilled rock, and select parameters of drilling and tool wear in an optimum manner.
It allows accelerating considerably works performed by this machine and increasing positively the accuracy of blast holes being drilled. The computer system of drilling control shows continuously the angle at which a hole is being drilled, demonstrates the actual depth of a hole being drilled, as well as hole drilling speed.
Fully computerized drilling rig is able to scan automatically by means of a laser a tunnel profile, and then selection and automatic drilling of the whole mine face without operator’s help pursuant to the set-up blasting pattern by means of two or three booms.
Depending on requirements of a future buyer, the drilling rig is offered with three options based on the same undercarriage:
- Three-boom tunnel version with the most advanced computer technology. For excavations with a cross section 100 m2
- Two-boom computerized version for small tunnels and mining excavations with a cross section of up to 70 m2
- Two-boom non-computerized version for small tunnels and mining excavations with a cross section of up to 70 m2.
Additionally, it was awarded in a competition: „Technika NOT Zagłębia Miedziowego” [Techniques of Chief Technical Organization in the Copper Basin] for outstanding achievements in the scope of engineering in the year 2006 for a solution: „Self-Propelled Low-Seam Roof Bolting Machine of ROOF MASTER 1,4 AUTOMATIC type”.
