A well known producer of mining machines and equipment is looking for a qualified engineer with mechanical engineering and hydraulic design experience, to work for its German partner in South Africa (Johannesburg). He will be responsible for managing the technical department.
His role will be to:
· Liaise with OEM’s on technical matters concerning design problems, and modifications.
· Manage the many small design jobs we do for customer requirements and some machine modifications.
· Oversee two design draughts persons.
· Manage the Production or documentation, parts books, training material within the department.
· Assist in designing test equipment for our component repair workshops.
· Assist the field service department with fault finding on particularly problematic machines.
· Testing of new machines and rebuilds, establishing quality standards and reports.
· Training – developing material and courses for service training customers and our own service technicians.
· Standard management functions within the organization.
